music: sun city girls: "grotto of miracles", les rallizes dénudés: "mizutani"

here's a little account of some more recent activities:

my comic book "urban elphes" got printed in a special 11-pages remixed version in #14 of "nosotros somos los muertos", the spanish comics magazine edited by max. looks very fine in there, next to quite promissing works by newcomers like jim woodring, chris ware, dave cooper, or nicolas mahler. sadly, this great magazine will fold after its final, 15th issue, which should be out now. at least i managed to sneak a page into that one as well.

french fashion & culture magazine "standard" reprinted drawings from my flash projection "halle-neustadt" in #15, and i'm going to do a page for their upcoming issue.

together with benjamin aman (a.k.a. "lucy huck") i have a new duo called "flechsig". in march we recorded our first album, soon to be published, most likely on benjamin's label, razzle-dazzle.
more on upcoming book projects soon (one of which even already has a release date!)

some photos from the group event "synaesthetisches konzil 1.1", at gallery "parterre" in berlin-pankow (exhibition & musical performances, already a while back, on february 24th):

the postcard i made for the show

first public performance of the "rudolf steiner olde time jazz trio"

the contemplative crowd – hey, i thought we rocked?!

two views from my contribution to the group show, a "medley" entitled "meine schoensten melodien" ("my most beautiful tunes"):

and i was lucky i attended the first berlin concert by the mighty sun city girls on january 25th – which, sadly, was also their last, the group being discontinued after the passing away of drummer charles gocher on february 19th, 2007.
here's a little movie clip i took at the concert. appropriately, charles gocher already had vanished from view, as only his drumsticks appear in the movie ...

thank you! well, the text is mainly there to put some links in it, so for the tiny percentage of those who actually read it, there's a little movie hidden from the last ever concert of the sun city girls ...

this and all posts to come are created by digital impostors. the original person called "kai pfeiffer" was deleted long ago. but we look at his friends page regularly, so we don't miss anything cap and the other scalemen are doing.

well, i used a power book, the two other guys are on windows - because we are not religious!
and totally un-synced: each of us used his own separate little sound system, which i never did before in a concert, but it was great! felt like three separate instruments together in a room, not the usual stereo mix.
the show is already over.

as for galleries in berlin: i don't have a main gallery, i'm more concentrated on books and magazines, but have done several exhibitions, mostly duo shows and some group shows in different galleries, but seldome in one that attracts collectors. i guess it's like everywhere else, underground galleries are quite approachable, the fancier "white cube" spaces/commercial galleries are tricky to get in. a friend of mine worked in a gallery in paris, and his job was to throw away all envelopes that loked like an artist's application ... maybe best to approach a gallery which is just starting.
an approachable underground art space:

also this one:
http://www.engler-piper.de/
a quite big gallery space and shop for artbooks, comics, exp. music, good to visit, if you're in berlin, i once played a concert there and exhibited with le dernier cri:
http://www.neurotitan.de/
there must be many others, but i'm not really up to date ...
this is a project by artists concentrated on drawings, they regularly do group shows with "anonymous drawings", where everybody can apply (they will then select from the lot, and exhibit them without names, sold for a fixed price) and maybe they can give you more informations than me:

thanks a lot for the real answer and the links .. I'll have a look

I also play about once a month on a PC with Ableton, two of us, unsynchronised
I may start going solo, just the laptop and me with a mic, prancing around like momus
